#1 Tree Removal & Trimming Service Provider
in Land O' Lakes
Tampa Elite Tree Service works on lakeside oaks, cypress and pines across Land O' Lakes, from the ski lakes of Lake Padgett Estates to the newer homes in Connerton and Bexley. Every estimate is free and is put together by an ISA Certified Arborist who walks the property with you.
The name is literal. Residents picked it at a 1949 community meeting, and the Ehren post office officially became Land O' Lakes on September 1, 1950. The community now has 35,929 residents (2020 Census) and an 81.6 percent homeownership rate, which means most of the trees here belong to people planning to stay a long time.
We cover the US 41 corridor along Land O' Lakes Boulevard, SR 54 out to the Suncoast Parkway, Collier Parkway, Ballantrae and Stagecoach. Crews heading south toward Tampa also handle tree jobs in Carrollwood.
A tree on a lake bank behaves differently from one in a dry front yard, and Land O' Lakes has a lot of lake banks.
Oaks and pines on the water reach toward open light over the lake, and over 20 or 30 years that builds a lean with the heaviest limbs on the water side. When the soil stays saturated, the root plate on the uphill side can start to lift.
We read the soil around the trunk, look for cracks in the turf and fresh root exposure, and either reduce the end weight or recommend tree removal before the tree goes into the water or onto a boathouse.
Bald cypress handles wet feet well, which is why so many line the lakes here. It still drops deadwood and can split at old lightning scars, and we prune it from the bank or by climbing so the shoreline vegetation stays intact.
The 2024 hurricane season left Land O' Lakes with flooding that some residents had not seen in 30 years.
When Cypress Creek overflowed after Milton, about three feet of water blocked the streets into Lake Padgett Estates East, and one longtime resident called it the worst flooding since 1994. Trees there stood in water for days.
Flooded root zones lose oxygen, and the damage shows up later as thinning crowns, dieback at branch tips and mushrooms at the base. Our tree health diagnostics visit sorts out which trees are recovering and which are not.
Moving water piles branches, root wads and whole trees against fences and docks. We cut and haul that material and can document it for your insurance claim. Written arborist reports run $150 to $400.
Land O' Lakes is unincorporated Pasco County, and its tree permits run through Pasco, not Hillsborough.
Pasco's residential tree removal application calls for a site plan or survey showing where the tree stands, along with photos in most cases. Expect a review of three to four business days if the file is complete, and longer if anything is missing.
Wetlands and grand trees face added review in Pasco, and both are common on lake lots here. If an ISA Certified Arborist documents a tree on your single-family property as an unacceptable risk, Florida Statute 163.045 lets you remove it without the local permit, and we prepare that documentation.
Land O' Lakes subdivisions vary a lot in age and tree mix, and our approach changes with them.
Lake Padgett Estates mixes waterfront homes with equestrian lots and stables, and its oaks are some of the oldest in the area. Pruning over pastures and paddocks keeps limbs off fencing, and we keep chips and debris away from horses.
Oakstead's roughly 1,200 homes, Ballantrae's 1,000 homes beside Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park and Connerton's villages around a 3,000-plus-acre nature preserve were mostly planted by builders. Young oaks there benefit from tree trimming and pruning to set a strong central leader, and preserve-edge lots need attention to pines that lean in from conservation land.
Plantation Palms, the gated golf community off Collier Parkway, has palms and oaks framing many backyards that open onto fairways. Palm trimming runs $75 to $300 per palm, and we pull only dead and drooping fronds rather than over-cutting into a hurricane cut that weakens the palm.
The questions that come up most here.
Yes. We winch or rig the trunk back to the bank, cut it up on land and haul it away. Pricing depends on size and access, and emergency work runs 1.5 to 2 times standard rates.
Withlacoochee River Electric serves much of Land O' Lakes. If your bill comes from a different utility, we coordinate with that one instead whenever a tree is close to a main line.
Most single trees run $450 to $2,000. Very large lakefront oaks and pines over 75 feet run $2,500 to $4,000 or more.
Yes. We grind below grade, rake the chips away from the shoreline so they do not wash into the lake, and call Sunshine 811 first so irrigation and power lines to the dock get marked.
